Are these hoodies really handmade?
Yes. Every handmade Scars & Stitches hoodie is individually created by hand. Depending on the design, that can include dyeing, painting, bleaching, distressing, screen printing, or other hand-applied techniques.These are not mass-produced pieces. Each hoodie is made one at a time.Will my hoodie look exactly like the one in the photo?
No two handmade hoodies will ever be exactly identical.The photos on our website represent the overall design, color palette, placement, and style you can expect. Because each piece is made by hand, natural variations in dye patterns, paint placement, distressing, overspray, texture, and color are part of what makes every hoodie unique.That is not considered a defect—it is part of owning a handmade piece.How long does it take to receive my hoodie?
Our normal production time for handmade hoodies is approximately 14–21 days before shipping.These pieces take time. Every hoodie is created individually instead of being pulled from a warehouse shelf.During large drops, holidays, or periods of extremely high order volume, production may take longer.Why does production take so long?
Because somebody is actually making your hoodie.Every piece goes through multiple stages depending on the design, including prepping, dyeing, painting, printing, drying, curing, detailing, quality checking, and packaging.We would rather take the time to make something worth wearing than rush something just to get it out the door.Are the hoodies one-of-one?
Some pieces are true One-of-Ones, while others are handmade versions of our established designs or best sellers.Even when the same design is recreated, the handmade process means your hoodie will still have its own variations and character.Can I order a completely custom hoodie?
Yes. We offer a 100% Custom Hoodie option where you can submit your ideas, colors, wording, theme, and overall direction.Custom work is still done in the Scars & Stitches style. You are hiring us to create something inspired by your vision—not to copy another artist or brand exactly.Can I choose my colors?
For custom orders, yes. For established Scars & Stitches designs, the available color options will be listed on the product page.Because of the handmade dye and paint process, exact shades and patterns may vary slightly from photos.Can I request an exact copy of another handmade hoodie?
We can recreate the overall concept, colors, graphics, and style of many previous designs, but we cannot guarantee an exact duplicate.Handmade art naturally changes from piece to piece.That is what makes yours yours.What sizes are available?
Available sizes will be shown on each product page.Please make sure you select the correct size before ordering. Different hoodie blanks and styles can fit differently, so always check the sizing information listed with the product.Can I change my size, colors, or design after ordering?
Contact us as soon as possible if something needs changed.Once production on your hoodie has started, changes may not be possible because materials may already have been purchased, dyed, painted, printed, or prepared specifically for your order.Do you accept returns or refunds because I don’t like how the handmade pattern came out?
Because these pieces are handmade and often created specifically for the customer, normal artistic variations are not grounds for a refund.Differences in paint placement, dye pattern, distressing, texture, overspray, and other handmade characteristics should be expected.If you receive the wrong item or there is a legitimate issue with your order, contact us so we can review it.What if my order arrives damaged?
If your package arrives damaged or you believe there is a legitimate production issue, contact us as soon as possible and include clear photos of the hoodie, packaging, and the issue.We will review the situation and work with you when appropriate.How should I wash my handmade hoodie?
Treat it like a piece of art.For the longest life possible:- Wash inside out.
- Use cold water.
- Use a gentle cycle.
- Avoid bleach.
- Avoid harsh detergents.
- Air dry whenever possible.
- If using a dryer, use low heat.
- Do not iron directly over painted or printed artwork.
Proper care will help preserve the color, artwork, and overall life of the hoodie.
Will the paint, dye, or distressing change over time?
Like any piece of clothing—especially something handmade—the hoodie will naturally age with wear and washing.Some fading, softening, cracking, or evolution of distressed areas can happen over time and can become part of the character of the piece.Following our care instructions will help your hoodie last as long as possible.Why are handmade hoodies more expensive than regular hoodies?
You aren’t just buying a blank hoodie with a graphic slapped on it.You’re paying for the hoodie, materials, artwork, preparation, dye work, paint work, printing, finishing, and the hours that go into creating each individual piece.Every handmade hoodie passes through somebody’s hands before it reaches yours.Are these perfect?
No—and they’re not supposed to be.Handmade clothing has personality.
